Hereby I would like to inform you that we have just published a vacancy for a Seconded National Expert on Ecodesign and Energy Labelling in our unit B.3 (Buildings and Products) in DG Energy at the European Commission.
Our HR department circulated the attached vacancy notice (in English, French and German) and job description to your respective Permanent Representations yesterday (Tuesday 22 October), and you might have received it already from the responsible colleagues there.
With this message, I would like to encourage warmly those of you, or qualified colleagues of yours, ideally with expertise on ecodesign and energy labelling, to apply if you’re interested and willing to reinforce our Brussels-based team in DG Energy, unit B.3 (Buildings and Products) to advance the development and implementation of our ecodesign and energy labelling dossiers. These are crucial for the success of the European Green Deal and Clean Industrial Deal in driving forward decarbonisation, energy savings and circularity, while helping consumers reduce energy costs, strengthening our collective competitiveness, resilience and energy security, by lowering energy demand and costs through better appliances.
The initial assignment mentioned in the vacancy notice would be for 2 years, but the total duration with prolongations can go up to 4 years and in exceptional cases up to 6 years.
The final deadline for possible application to arrive with the Commission’s HR department via your Permanent Representations is 17 December 2024, but please keep in mind that each Member State sets its own internal processes and deadlines for individual applications, so please follow the Member State-specific indications from there.
We would certainly be very happy and grateful to receive your or your colleagues’ applications with a motivation letter and CV. On this basis, we would then set up a competitive process to select the best suited candidate, based on respective merit (e.g. background, experience, motivation, etc.), in line with the published vacancy notice.
Thank you for your kind consideration and cooperation in advance!
